Latin Recording Academy names new board members
June 29th, 2011 - 11:43 am ICT by IANSMiami, June 29 (IANS/EFE) The Latin Recording Academy has announced the election of new members to its Board of Trustees, which will continue to be chaired by Spanish conductor and composer Luis Cobos.
In a communique released Tuesday, the Academy’s president and CEO, Gabriel Abaroa Jr., announced that the board’s new vice chair will be award-winning engineer Antonio “Moogie” Canazio.
Television producer Mary Black-Suarez will serve as secretary, while media businessman Luis Villanueva was elected treasurer.
In addition, Colombian composer and producer Kike Santander will continue in his post of chair emeritus.
The Latin Recording Academy is an international organisation comprised of artists, musicians, composers, producers and other technical and creative professionals recording in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
The organisation produces the annual Latin Grammy awards ceremony.
