Larry King’s wife ‘in hospital after overdosing on pills’
June 10th, 2010 - 4:27 pm ICT by ANINew York, June 10 (ANI): Talk show host Larry King’s wife has reportedly been hospitalised after overdosing on pills.
According to RadarOnline.com, King’s wife Shawn Southwick, 50, was at her Utah home when the incident took place, and her father Karl Engemann immediately called 911 when he found her unresponsive.
“I can’t wake her up,” the New York Post quoted him as having said during the call.
The website reported that Southwick had taken too many pills on the evening of May 28, but Engemann, 76, said his daughter was not trying to commit suicide.
“She may have overmedicated. I don’t think she did it on purpose. Last night she seemed confused about what she had taken, the last time she had taken it,” Engemann informed the 911 operator.
“No, no. No, it wouldn’t be suicidal,” he said.
Engemann, remained calm throughout the call, following instructions until an ambulance arrived.
He revealed that his daughter was taking medication for depression.
“She’s unconscious. I slap her and … she opens her eyes half way and puts them back down again,” he said.
“I left my daughter here last night and she was fine. I come this morning she’s supposed to have a meeting in a while and she just seems to be out of it,” he added. (ANI)
