Larry KingDec 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The last episode of the Larry King’s show on CNN was considered by many industry experts as the end of an era. Thursday night’s episode in which the television icon bid adieu to the hit program would go down in history, not only as the concluding segment of the 25-year-old show but also owing to the stupendous ratings that it received. Larry King concluded his stint on the program at the top of the ratings, a fact that hardly comes as a bolt from the blue given the magnanimous success that the show has witnessed over the years.

Reports suggest that on Thursday night a staggering 2.24 million viewers tuned in to watch the last episode of ‘Larry King Live’ leaving way behind its usual competitors, Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity as well as MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. The high ratings that the episode received could easily be attributed to the star-studded farewell that was bestowed on the legendary chat show host during Thursday’s program as it was attended by the who’s who of the world of entertainment as well as politics. The prominent personalities who turned up to give their regards to the television icon included Ryan Seacrest, Regis Philbin, Tony Bennett, Donald Trump, Dr. Phil McGraw, Fred Armisen, Katie Couric, to name a few.
