Larry King: Spell At CNN Ends As He Sat With The Signature Mic For The Last Time

Accompanying him for the show were Bill Maher and Ryan Seacrest, who were able to provide the comic relief as at times the program got emotional. King revealed he was immensely surprised to see the tributes that the biggies of the nation had paid to him, the clippings ranged from President Barrack Obama, to ABC anchor Diane Sawyer who referred to people like her to be King’s groupies. Arnold Schwarzenegger the outgoing Governor of California even declared Thursday to be “Larry King Day”.
Though Larry King announced way back in June that he is going to leave the show and wished to spend more time with Shawn his seventh wife and their two sons, when the day came it was an emotional one even for the host. King has proudly said previously that he never prepared for the interviews and had even made some major mistakes over the years, but that’s what made him unique and audience still loved him.
Over the 25 years the ‘Larry King Live’ has become a one stop place for the high powered, high profiled people to promote or to talk about their upcoming ventures. While over the last few years CNN might have lost its ground to Fox News and MSNBC, but Larry King remained one of the favorites. So when the studio went dark after the hour long show with the focus on the prop mic that has separated King from the celebs, it was an emotional one.
