“Larry King Live” To End This Fall

laryLos Angeles, June 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On June 29, Larry King, one of the most familiar and popular faces of the American television announced that “Larry King Live” aired on CNN will come to an end this fall. The news was confirmed by Jonathan Klein the president of CNN’s domestic channel who said that the 76-year-old veteran was ending the show “on his own terms”. The show has completed its 25 years on television this year and all through these 25 years it has remained one of the most watched shows of CNN. According to many sources, the decision of Larry King to end the “Larry King Live” follows the recent drop in the show’s popularity. Jonathan Klein on Tuesday said that the channel will announce a new show in the prime slot of 9 p.m. over the summer.

Larry King mentioned in his official blog that he would love to spend more time with his wife and family. The host said that the management has accepted his request to end the show but he would still remain a part of the CNN family of which he had remained an integral part for the last 25 years. Larry King revealed that he would be seen hosting special International and national events and programs. The veteran host added “With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring”.

In Larry King Live’s run on television for 25 years, the host of the show had interviewed more than 40,000 people that included not only celebrities but also politicians and other imminent people. Larry King had in his show every U.S. President starting from Gerald Ford. Bill Gates and singers like Lady Gaga too have taken the guest’s seat in the show recently.
