Landlord sues Mischa Barton over unpaid rent

mischa New York City, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mischa Barton’s landlord has sued her for not paying the rent, on her New York City apartment. She defaulted on her $7000 a month rent, and a management company has sued her for it. Mischa Barton also lives in Los Angeles, however she shifted to New York City, while she was acting in ‘The Beautiful Life’. It is a series about the New York modeling world, but unfortunately it got canceled in September.

According to the court documents, Mischa Barton had signed a 1-year lease for an apartment, which is at 39 Walker Street. The lease was signed in September, and since the show got cancelled in September, so Mischa Barton moved out in October. After moving out, she simply stopped paying the rent. The court documents claim that the actress ought to pay over $21,300 in overdue rent.

In December 2007, she said that she might return to television, if the show interested her, “It’s not that I dislike doing television at all. It would be interesting having more creative control over where the storylines go or the characters. But for the right thing, of course.”

In 2009 she acted in Bhopal: Prayer for Rain. Martin Sheen co-starred with her in this movie, which was made on the Bhopal Gas tragedy. This movie is now in the post-production phase, and is set to be released soon this year.
