Lal Signs Fazi’s Son Shanu, Plays Tribute To The Filmmaker

October 12, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Mollywood director Lal is paying his tribute to veteran filmmaker Fazil by signing on his son Fahad Fazil (Shanu) in the lead role of his next project ‘Tournament’.
This road movie has a youth based theme and is said to be a comedy thriller. Lal has scripted the movie himself and it will be a Christmas release from Lal productions. A bunch of other youngsters will be acting with Shanu in this movie.
The young actor has shown his acting skills in his first few films like Kaiyethum Doorathu, Kerala Café, Pramani etc. Lal has found him to be a promising actor, who can go a long way with his acting caliber.
The successful directors of present time like Lal, Rafi-Mecartin and Siddhique usually consider Fazil as their inspiration and mentor, who have taught them the secrets of creating successful flick in Mollywood.
Few days back, Lal signed Tamil actress Roopa Manjari in the female lead role of ‘Tournament’. ‘Tournament’ deals with eight boys and a girl and the shooting of the movie is likely to take place in locations like Bangalore, Mysore and Gundalpet.
Hope, this dream project of the director brings Box Office results, thus making it a real tribute to the veteran Fazil.
