‘Lake Placid 3′ Returns With Monster Crocs

Aug 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The lovers of monster flicks had a great time last night as Syfy aired the latest installment in its croc terror film series named ‘Lake Placid 3′ yesterday. Like the earlier two films in the series Lake Placid 3 has the usual CGI crocodiles that seem hell bent on devouring every single human that comes across their way. The story in the film revolves round the life of a married couple with a child. There is a moody babysitter and a group of eager to date teenagers. Colin Ferguson is the zoologist and warden who has a career conscious wife. The couple neglects the kid and leaves him to the care of the babysitter. The babysitter in turn has a penchant for killing animals.
The zoologist is told that the lake has been cleaned of the killer animals and he initially believes that too. The baby grows up and as a kid he wants a pet. Neglected by his parents he feeds the giant crocs at the lake with meat which he steals from the freezer. The group of boys and girls in their skimpy outfits provide a relief from the regular crocs chasing and killing humans game. The role of the career absorbed wife is played to perfection by actress Kirsty Mitchell. However it is Michael Ironside’s sheriff act and Yancy Butler’s whimsical babysitter act that steal the show.
The CGI crocs are the scene stealer but the animation team could pay more attention in the sequences. The movie is watchable but when you compare them, with other SyFy monster flicks the attraction is not much.
