May 12th, 2011 - 1:50 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lady Gaga is collaborating with the makers of the hit online game, Farmville, to premiere some of the tracks on her upcoming album “Born This Way.” The album is going to be released on the 23rd of May but according to the new deal, her fans will be able to hear some exclusive tracks on the album if they play a special version of the game.
Fans will have to play the specially-made Gagaville and reach certain stages before they can hear the song. The songs will be available for streaming from the 17th to the 19th of May. Gagaville though is not here to stay. According to the game’s maker Zynga, the special game will be scrapped on the 26th of May. Both parties have however remained tight-lipped concerning the financial agreements reached.
Farmville is one of the most popular games on Facebook. More than 40 million people play the game each month on Facebook. The spokesperson of Zynga told reporters that the company decided to partner with Lady Gaga because she also commands massive following just like the game.
Zynga makes money from Farmville by selling virtual seeds and other farm produce to the game’s players.
