Lady Gaga sparks outrage by wearing raw meat outfit to MTV Awards
September 14th, 2010 - 11:49 am ICT by ANILondon, Sep 14 (ANI): Lady Gaga has once again raised eyebrows by wearing an outfit made of raw meat to the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 24-year-old ‘Bad Romance’ singer wore a dress, boots, hat and purse made of animal flesh as she collected one of eight gongs on stage in Los Angeles.
The beef-clad pop queen linked her latest bizarre ensemble to a battle for civil rights - insisting: “I am not a piece of meat,” reports the Sun.
She claimed it was tied in with a protest against the US military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, which stops gays admitting their sexuality.
Insisting she did not mean to upset vegetarians, she said: “If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And I am not a piece of meat.” (ANI)
