August 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): American recording artist is the latest queen in the micro-blogging site Twitter. She has taken up the crown from once reigning queen Britney Spears, another renowned recording artist. Before Spears, it was 32 year old American actor Ashton Kutcher, who was the most followed person on Twitter.

The rising popularity of Lady Gaga is mainly due to her ongoing “Monster Ball Tour’, which has attracted millions of her fans. It was reported that Spears has now only 5,668,500 followers and Lady Gaga has 5,670,182 followers in Twitter.

However, the followers of Britney keep changing by thousands so the 28 year old singing sensation has nothing to worry. She might get back the crown very soon.

Lady Gaga was just one position behind Britney before taking up the title. So, now if she slips her top position, she will give a good competition to Spears, who is likely to get a boost from her upcoming Glee episode.

It was only in last month; Lady Gaga became the first living individual in the earth to have 10 million fans on Facebook. In the last month itself, Lady Gaga had added 600,000 new followers to her Twitter account. Gaga is however not going gaga about her latest achievement!
