Barack Obama London, October 13 (ANI): Lady Gaga recently performed a rendition of late singer John Lennon’s hit ‘Imagine’ to pull in more people for a gay right’s march through the streets of Washington D.C.

The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker referred to late student Matthew Shepard, a teen who died in 1998 after he was tortured for being gay, as she played with the lyrics.

The event took place on the eve of the protests at the Human Rights Campaign’s official dinner.

In fact, U.S. President Barack Obama who told the audience of his plans to allow homosexuals into the U.S. military preceded Gaga on stage.

“I’m honoured to be opening for Lady Gaga tonight,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

Gaga also joined the rally next day and took part in a street demonstration outside the White House. (ANI)
