November 29th, 2010 - 1:18 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Nov 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher are all bidding farewell to the various social networking portals like Facebook and Twitter in order to raise money. The money that will be raised would form a part of Alicia Key’s charity.
The stars would quit the social networking websites as part of the ‘Digital Life Sacrifice’ campaign. The money is being raised in aid of the ‘Keep a Child Alive’ charity, which helps all those families who are afflicted with HIV/AIDS in Africa and in India as well.
Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher have already video taped their ‘last tweet and testament’. These videos will form a part of the advertisements, which will showcase the stars lying down in coffins as part of a ‘digital death’.
However their fans can rest easy as the stars are not signing off for good. They will come back online after the campaign manages to raise a million dollars.
“It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that,” according to 29 years old Alicia Keys.
