Lady Gaga beats Spears to top spot on Twitter

Los Angeles, Aug 22 (IANS) Pop star Britney Spears is no more the Twitter queen. Her fellow singer Lady Gaga now rules the microblogging site with the maximum number of fans.
Nearly three-months after Spears usurped the most-followed Twitter user crown from Ashton Kutcher, the pop singer lost the title to Lady Gaga.
On Saturday, Gaga surged into the lead, netting 5,694,147 followers to Britney’s 5,685,390 — a difference of nearly 9,000 users, reports accesshollywood.com
Lady Gaga broke from her usual “Poker Face” after learning the news, posting a Twitpic of herself with the rock band Kiss, and Tweeting, “Kiss the Queen”.
