Los Angeles, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The most anticipated performance in the Grammy Awards 2010 was a duet by Elton John and Lady Gaga. Both the performers engaged in a piano duet. The choice of the performance was not very surprising, considering that both the stars are great with the piano. Initially, the producers of the Grammy Awards had let slip that Lady Gaga would be performing in the award in collaboration with someone. However, it had not been made clear as to who she would be collaborating with. Of course, it had led to a lot of speculation among the paparazzi, and the buzz was that she would be dueting with Elton John, a rumor that proved to be true.
The dual performance of Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John was preceded by a performance by Lady Gaga herself. In what was the very first performance of the evening, she sang her hit single “Poker Face,” an electric performance that sent the crowd into a tizzy. Most of all, it was the ample amount of special effects on stage that really fired up the crowd. In fact, at one point of time, the stage effects made her look as though she really had gone up in fire.
Next in line was Lady Gaga’s performance with Sir Elton John. For many, this was a great moment in the history of the awards, the coming together of a cult and a cult in the making. They performed a medley of two of their signature songs, Lady Gaga’s “Speechless” and Sir Elton John’s “Your Song.” The entire performance was rather nicely worked upon, with the stage light dimmed and the piano fittingly decorated with sculptures.
