Nashville, Nov.12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Country Music Awards 2009 proved to be an extremely rewarding experience for American country music group “Lady Antebellum” as the trio managed to grab two much coveted awards in the gala event held on Wednesday evening. The much acclaimed country music group won the awards in the two categories of Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year. The star studded award ceremony which was attended many other musical celebrities was held at the Sommet Center in Nashville.

The group received its first award of the evening for their popular single “I Run to You” which was presented by singer Kid Rock. In order to win the honor, the band had to beat four of the other competitors which included Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, Billy Currington and Zac Brown Band. However, this was not the only time that the musical group was honored and had to come onstage to receive an award. The trio were also declared the winner in the Vocal Group of the Year category. On receiving the coveted awards, band members expressed their gratitude for giving them the honor and revealed that they were extremely thankful to everyone, especially their fans.

The country music band Lady Antebellum was formed in the year 2006 and comprises of the trio Hillary Scott [in lead vocals], Dave Haywood [background vocals and instruments] and Charles Kelley [lending both lead and background vocals]. Since their debut in the year 2007, the band has released a number of singles which have become chart topping hits. The group is also getting ready to release its brand new album sometime next year.
