Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The fans of the popular reality show “American Idol” started speculating about the next host for the show from the time Simon Cowell said that he would be leaving it. He was quite popular with the viewers and finding a suitable replacement for him is not an easy task at all. A number of celebrities like Sir Elton John and Victoria Beckham were said to be contending for the post. However, these rumors are yet to be proved. The latest contender to join the list of would be host is La Toya Jackson.

According to the industry buzz, Nigel Lythgoe, the producer of “American Idol” and La Toya Jackson are close buddies. She is said to be willing to take up the position of Simon Cowell if it is offered to her. The popular web based gossip sites report that the singer is excited about the prospect of donning the hat of the judge in “American idol.” The sibling of Michael Jackson said recently that the reality show will give her the exposure she always wanted in her career. According to her, the viewers will get to know her as a person from the show.

However, it would be interesting for the viewers to see her in a different avatar after she appeared in some Playboy videos. It needs to be remembered that she was the first sister of the pop legend who chose music as her career. Her stint with music has been more or less successful. However, viewers are skeptical about her success as the judge of “American Idol.”
