Kurt Cobains smashed guitar fetches PS68,493 at auction
December 25th, 2008 - 2:30 pm ICT by ANI London, December 25 (ANI): A smashed guitar that late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain once used to strum on fetched 68,493 pounds at an auction recently.
The taped-up Fender Mustang had been on display at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington.
Its sale was confirmed by the senior curator of the Experience Music Project, reports the Daily Express.
The guitar was owned by punk rocker Sluggo of The Grannies and Hullabaloo, who claimed to have traded Cobain a working guitar for the broken instrument in the legendary band’’s early days.
It is said that Cobain had broken the guitar by smashing it on stage, and could not afford to replace it. (ANI)
