April 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Kitani Mohabbat Hai fans were deeply disappointed when the show went off air last year. The same fans expressed delight when news of a possible sequel to the show broke out. However, hold your celebrations as there’s a big “if’ involved here.

Kritika Kamra, who played the protagonist, Arohi, is adopting a cautious approach to the entire saga. Well, she’s got valid reasons to think in such a manner.

“Taking note of fans’ demand, the channel has mooted the idea of having a sequel to Kitani Mohabbat Hai. However, at the moment, it’s just a thought. Karan and I are currently busy with Zara Nachke Dikha. Pooja Gor is playing the lead in Pratgiya. Other actors too have taken up various commitments. And even Balaji is pretty tied up currently. It will be premature to talk of anything now,” said Kamra

So is Television’s Sweetheart then saying that’s she’s not keen about the sequel?

“No, it’s not that. There are several things to be considered before you take a call. The most important thing is that how will you continue the story? In the last episode, Arohi and Arjun unite. I don’t think you can now show Arohi with a baby. That will defeat the purpose. History, too, suggests that sequels haven’t been that successful. If the new concept and the story appeals, I’ll take up the show,” said the actress.

NDTV Imagine (now Imagine TV) had shut the show for poor TRPs. Isn’t it a surprise that the channel is contemplating on having a sequel for a dud show?

“Yes, there’s no denying that Kitani.. seldom drew high TRPs. Our popularity extended to the urban viewers and the NRIs. We could never appeal to the rural viewers or your typical saas-bahu audience.

However, as an actor, I rather prefer the few urban viewers than appeal to the masses,” the girl sighed.

We understand the difficulties that you are facing Kritika, but fans certainly will welcome a sequel to Kitani Mohabbat Hai.
