Kristen Stewart Breaking Away From The Bella Swan Mould

October 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): For the past three years Kristen Stewart has been playing the role of Bella Swan the edgy teenager from Forks in love with the vampire. The Twilight flicks have catapulted to the fame that most stars dream of but the 20year old actress wants to break free of that Bella Swan mould and explore her histrionics. All the Kristen Stewart detractors now would have to sit up and watch this young actress as she takes on the role of Mallory in Welcome To The Rileys.
The director of the film Jake Scott is having tough time putting a lid on the praises that he is dishing out. Those who have already seen the film in 2010 Sundance Film Festival and the rushes of it are now rooting that Kristen’s portrayal of the role might just help her in getting an Oscar nomination. Stewart has held her ground in the film opposite the powerhouse performers like Jim Gandolfini and Mellia Leo.
Since becoming the Bella Swan of Twilight, Kristen has steered clear of roles that would portray her as the timid, shy girl. She has taken up projects like The Runaways, Welcome To The Rileys and On The Road. In The Runaways she played the role of the rocker Joan Jett, transforms herself to a troubled young stripper in WTHR and On The Road Stewart is a hippie.
