Kristen, who had been competing for the crown as Miss North Texas, will now go to the mega event where she will be representing Lone Star State at the Miss America pageant. She has earned $12,000 as Miss Texas Scholarship.

She has been making a mark as a strong contender for the crown from the beginning. In the talent round, she ousted the other contestants through her singing performance winning the Preliminary Talent Award.

When she was crowned as Miss Texas by Rebecca Robinson who was the winner last year, she was looking stunning in her evening gown which was powder blue in color. Earlier she emerged as the fourth runner up in the Miss Fort Worth. She was crowned at about 11.30 p.m. Besides Blair, 16 year old Taylor Lowery was crowned the Miss Ten Texas on the same evening.

The gala show that was held at Arlington started at about 8 pm in the evening. The pageant tested the contestants on different grounds like ventriloquism, dance, singing and baton-twirling. This year 36 women were competing against each other for the Miss Texas crown.

With Kristen winning the crown, more challenge awaits for the newly crowned Miss Texas who will now have to work hard to make a mark for the title of Miss America that is scheduled to be held on January at Las Vegas, Nevada.
