After seeing the rushes of their film, the makers of Wake Up Sid, Dharma Productions felt their lead actress Konkona Sen Sharma wasn’t looking her best (read appeared fat). They conveyed this to Konkona in polite words and requested her for a re-shoot of all these portions. This would have lead to additional production costs but they were game for it. But then Koko banged her furious foot down declaring, “This is what I am and this is what you shall get!”

Director Ayaan Mukherjee (Rani’s cousin) had no option but to move on to the next schedule. Unit insiders claim, Konkona was signed on for the project as the script demanded an ordinary looking girl who was a perfect contrast to the film’s lead actor Ranbir Kapoor. So one wonders why the makers were creating a fuss about it all.
