Kollywood’s Kites Festival From August 6

July 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Wondering what Kollywood has got to do with Festival of Kites? Well, it’s all about the release of Baana Kathadi scheduled on August 6. Set in backdrops of North Chennai, Baana Kaathadi is about two young and vigorous kite runners falling in love and the problems encountered by them.
Sathya Jyothi Films has churned out all time seasonal blockbusters over the years and it promises Baana Kaathadi to be yet another feather in its cap. The film marks the debut of newcomer Atharva, son of veteran actor Murali and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya fame Samantha in lead roles.
It’s worth mentioning that Sathya Jyothi Films had introduced actor Murali before 25 years. Baana Kaathadi is directed by Badri Venkatesh, who previously shot to fame for his national award winning short film. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s songs have already become chartbusters and Richard M. Nathan is handling cinematography.
Throwing more lights on this film’s USP, filmmaker Badri Venkatesh says, “Usually films based on North Chennai are on gangsters and their bloodcurdling conflicts. But for the first time, audiences will have something new to relish in the same backdrops…”
The film is produced by produced by Senthil Thyagarajan and T. Arjun under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films.
