‘Knight and Day’ grosses Rs.75 mn on opening weekend

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) The Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz action comedy “Knight And Day” earned Rs.75 million during opening weekend in India.
It is the the third biggest opening of the year for a Hollywood film in India after “Clash of The Titans” and “Prince of Persia”. India is the fourth highest grosser internationally for the film among countries where the film has opened so far, said a press statement.
“Not only is the Tom-Cameron pair a huge crowd puller, the film’s exciting blend of action and comedy has also been highly appreciated by audiences across the country. With the strong word of mouth promotions going on for the film, we are expecting a further surge in the collections for the week ahead,” said Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios India.
In the film, Cruise and Diaz play a fugitive couple on a race across the globe amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals.
