Kitty Spencer The niece of the late Princess Diana said she cannot understand why blood sports should be a hobby. The 18-year old socialite and daughter of Diana’s brother Earl Spencer says she thinks the worst thing she can do is go with her cousins Princes William and Harry on one of their hunting sessions. The Princes immensely enjoy the sport and are often reported to go hunting. Kitty said, “Gross! I don’t want to see animals being killed.” Speaking to a magazine she revealed that she shares a lot of traits with her father Earl Spencer and said they have very strong opinions and share the same sense of humor. About her father she said, “He’s one of those guys that doesn’t mess around”

Kitty appears on the latest issue of Britain’s Tatler magazine and lives in South Africa with her mother Victoria Lockwood. She visits her family home at Althorpe on holidays. Earl Spencer has been careful to largely shield her from the media attention that his family receives for various reasons. She said she felt shock when she saw the 2008 movie “The Duchess” which featured a tale of the marriage of her distant relative Lady Georgina Spencer.

Lady Georgina Spencer had grown up in the Spencers’ ancestral home in Althorpe in Northamptonshire and went on to become the Duchess of Devonshire when she married the Duke. She said about the movie, “It’s weird that she’s the equivalent of me 200 years ago. Feck, I hope I don’t have to marry someone like that.”

Kitty said she was happy in her life at South Africa adding, “I don’t think I’d have been that happy growing up in England. Our way of life is so much more relaxed.”
