‘Kites’ to have US, British premiere
May 13th, 2010 - 9:44 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, May 13 (IANS) The much-awaited love story ‘Kites’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori, will have a US and British premiere May 16 and May 18 respectively.
Produced by the lead actor’s father Rakesh Roshan and directed by Anurag Basu, “Kites” will have a world-wide release May 21. It will be distributed and marketed by Reliance BIG Pictures.
“We are having a New York premiere for the movie at AMC Empire (theatre), Times Square on May 16,” a source close to the film unit told IANS.
“Before that on May 14 and 15, Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Anurag Basu, and Rajesh Roshan will be doing promotions for the same,” the source added.
The New York premiere will shortly be followed by the one in London.
“Then on May 18 there is a premiere in London at Odeon West End and then they come back here on May 19 midnight,” the source added.
A love story about an Indian man’s affair with a Latin woman and their predicament as they don’t understand each other’s language, “Kites” is about their thrilling journey filled with precious moments and unexpected betrayal.
An English version of the movie, titled “Kites: The Remix” and edited as per western sensibilities by Hollywood director Brett Ratner is releasing May 28.
The promotions for the same have also been going on with Ratner and Mori in the US.
Industry sources also revealed that Mori will be in India “for a week to 10 days” after being in London. It will be her second trip to India.
