kirtMar 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed actress Kirstie Alley created quite a buzz when she made an appearance at the “Today” show on Tuesday morning. The “Cheers” star who is known to have weight issues, has brushed away reports that her weight loss program has any connection with her Scientology religion.

Just before the 59 year old actress appeared in the NBC show, the television show featured a segment that linked Kirstie Alley’s new diet program to the Church of Scientology, of which the actress is known to be a member. However, the segment does not seem to have gone down to well with the “Fat Actress” star who was apparently left fuming after the segment was shown. When host Meredith Vieira asked the actress whether the Organic Liaison diet program had anything to do with her Scientology religion, the “Big Life” star shot back at the host and exclaimed “It’s such bullsh..” when she was stopped half way through by Meredith Vieira from using that kind of language on television.

At the same time, the actress also brushed away the reports that claim that there were financial links between Kirstie Alley’s weight loss company and the church, as money from Organic Liaison was being transferred to the Church of Scientology. The reports gained mileage as the company’s office is located in the same building where the Scientology headquarters is located in Florida. Moreover, two members in the firm’s advisory board are known to follow the religion while the company’s accountant Saul B. Lipson is also a known Scientologist. However, all these claims have been refuted by the actress, who emphasized that the allegations were completely untrue.
