King Hammer retaliates at Jay-Z with his new song ‘Better Run Run’
November 2nd, 2010 - 7:13 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Nov 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) MC Hammer carried through with his threat to retaliate an earlier reference of him in a song by Jay-Z with the release of the single video, “Better Run Run”. Jay-Z’s earlier song was released back in September on Kanye West’s “So Appalled” album. Those references to MC Hammer (now called King Hammer) did not go down very well with the ace dancer and rapper and he promised to retaliate Jay-Z’s action on Halloween night and that is exactly what he did.
Well King Hammer’s retaliates on Jay-Z was not after the latter rapper’s financial situation or his cultural relevancy. He intelligently avoided those lines and rather attacked Jay-Z’s lifestyle/religion. King Hammer seemed to portray in the video that Jay-Z has sold his soul for the devil in return for money and fame. Ouch! That will surely hurt. The carefully orchestrated video shows a Jay-Z look-alike being chased in the forest by the devil. The Jay-Z look-alike finally joins the devil at the studio and the pair draws up lyrics together.
And the lyrics of the song were no charitable on Jay-Z. References like “Devil said, ‘Imma give you the world’ ‘I’ll take it, plus give me a girl’ ‘Mr. Devil, can you give me a sign’. He said, ‘Throw the Roc up, that’s one of mine”.
