Kimberly Caldwell the former “American Idol” contestant reportedly said that the show would never be the same without the presence of Paula Abdul. “Something’s going to be lost,” Caldwell nostalgically stated. “She’s part of the formula, part of the ingredients that make the ‘Idol’ work”, she added.

Abdul is remembered for her sympathetic and often-so-lenient approach as a judge on the show “American Idol”. Talking of sympathy Caldwell is so-so sympathetic too on her new project as host of MTV’s ‘P.Daddy’s Star Maker’ which she said would be the ‘most amazing’ show(launched yesterday at 10 pm) .

As a host she has honed up her skills in the previous project, T.V.Guide’s “American Idol” already, so that does not leave us much to scrutinize! On this new show she hosts, 14 contestants are pruned, schooled and polished up. It showcases then transcendental process of the iconic, exemplary, perfect star in about 10 episodes.

About the show Caldwell said, “Going through ‘American Idol’ definitely made me respectable to be a mentor to these kids.” She summarized saying “When they were getting these hard critiques, I would tear up. It hit home.” She is the most appropriate host for the show since she has been in the shoes of the contestants, she is seen encouraging and presenting.

Caldwell is on the show through producer Mark Burnett. She has done “Jingles” which was another Burnett show for CBC, a show yet to be aired on television.

Besides this Kimberly has also signed up with Vanguard Records enthusiastically in July 2009 and her CD is expecting to release by the beginning of next year reportedly.
