Los Angeles, March 22 (IANS) Basketball star Kris Humphries’ lawyers claim that his former wife Kim Kardashian is trying to damage his reputation.

In a statement by Kris’ lawyer, which was released to Life & Style magazine, it’s alleged that Kim is trying to make the world think the sportsman is a terrible person, reports showbizspy.com.

“Kim is trying to make the world think the sportsman is a terrible person,” said Kris’ lawyer in the statement.

“Much effort and energy to misdirect the public’s perception of what transpired between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has taken place over the past several months,” showbizspy.com quoted lawyer as saying,” added he lawyer.

In August 2011, Kim married Krish. She filed for divorce, just 72 days after the wedding.

Despite reports claiming that Kris is demanding a $7 million settlement to stay silent, “No demands have been made,” said Kris’ legal team, which includes general counsel Lee A. Hutton III of Lommen Abdo and family law experts Marshall Waller and Sandra Salinas of Feinberg & Waller.

“While we are encouraged to see an apparent willingness by the other side to put big numbers out in an attempt to settle Mr. Humph’ies’ claims, we respect and will continue to observe the integrity of the legal process. One thing is certain: Kris Humphries intends to set the record straght,” he added.
