New York, July 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Reality television star Kim Kardashian’s struggle with psoriasis has been highlighted. Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition and it is a shocking revelation to many that the woman regarded as one of the most beautiful in the spotlight currently is suffering from it.

There are about 7.5 million Americans who are estimate to be suffering from the condition. The revelation of Kim’s condition was made in a recent episode of her hit reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

In the episode, Kim paid a visit to her dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer. In the routine checks, Dr. Lancer diagnosed the 30-year-old with the condition and the bad news couldn’t have come at a worse time in the life of Kim who is preparing for her wedding.

The National Psoriasis Foundation issued a statement. The statement pointed a bleak picture for Kim. It said that, “Like millions of other Americans with psoriasis, Kim Kardashian is at increased risk for other serious health conditions associated with the disease, including heart disease, heart attack, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and depression.”

To the naked eye, psoriasis looks much like a ringworm infection. According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, the disease causes the skin cells of its patients mature at a rate which is almost ten times faster than that of normal people.
