London, Oct 10 (ANI): Liverpool-born actress Kim Cattrall has revealed that she turned down ‘Sex And The City’ role three times because she found it depressing.

“I turned down the role of Samantha (Jones) in Sex And The City three times,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

“I’d read the book and threw it across the room because I found it so depressing.

“Then I was offered the part, read it again, and still didn’t think it was for me. I just didn’t care for the characters.

“It was only after numerous meetings that they convinced me Samantha wasn’t a silly two-dimensional character and I finally said yes,” she said.

After two hit movies and 94 episodes of Sex And The City, Cattrall is resigned to the idea of people expecting a real-life Samantha Jones when they meet her.

“People are so disappointed when they realise I’m not actually Samantha Jones. In some ways it’s a great tribute to the character that people think of her as real,” said Kim. (ANI)
