Feb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The BET honors which went on air on the night of 1st February saw Kim Burell giving a tribute to Whitney Houston with a smashing performance. “I belive in you” is the song that the singer chose for her performance which is one of Whitney Houston’s singles. The song was aptly chosen, given the fact that Whitney Houston could hardly help herself from swooning in pleasure.

Whitney Houston could be seen jumping and jostling about her seat when she heard the presenter, Ne-Yo, call out Kim Burell’s name. Ne-Yo referred to Kim Burrell as “one of Ms. Houston’s favorite voices on the planet. The show was however, somehow ruined with rumors of Whitney Houston being on drugs making the rounds. This buzz started some time before the show was supposed to end. Sources claim that the peons had “stirred” the news that “she was looking like she’s still on drugs”. The BET honoree Whitney Houston shared her position with people like Queen Latifah and Sean P. Diddy.

The BET honors, this year too kept up to their reputation of “creating humdrum content for the black folks”. The show was hosted by Gabrielle Union, once again making her suave and royal appearance. The tribute that was given to Queen Latifah was accepted with a lot of cheers and some funny moments. The whole show however took a back seat while the audience was mesmerized by Kim Burrell’s voice. Fans claim that the gospel singer has “a voice like no other”. Kim Burell is also known as “this generation’s Ella Fitzgerald” and rightly so it seems.
