Kierra Knightley and Rupert Friend Split After 5 Years
January 14th, 2011 - 2:51 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJan 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Sun reports that actress Kierra Knightley has broken up with her boyfriend of the last five years, Rupert Friend, after the two had been together for five years. Their relationship was said to have been rocky all throughout the end of last year, and the two decided just before Christmas that perhaps it was best for them to go their separate ways.
Will Knightley, the father of Kierra, stated to the ‘Sun’, “Yes, they have broken up, but that’s the way things go, unfortunately. They were together for quite a long time, and it is always hard breaking up. She’s focused on her work.”
Kierra and Rupert met while working on the set of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ back in 2005, but rumor has it that Rupert was having a hard time dealing with the rising fame of Kierra. A friend was said to have stated to the ‘Sun’, “Rupert hates the idea of being followed and photographed. Kierra partially had to accept it because of her rising profile. It affected the harmony in the relationship. The pressure took its toll, and both decided they should go their separate ways. They will remain life-long friends.”
