Kids will decide about spending time between us: WitherspoonNovember 21st, 2008 - 2:47 pm ICT by IANS
London, Nov 21 (IANS) Reese Witherspoon, who split from her husband Ryan Phillipe a year ago, wants her children to decide how they want to spend time with their parents.Thesun.co.uk reports her saying: “The most important thing is the children, what they want, what makes them feel comfortable and happy. Bearing that in mind, the most important thing is to be a grown up about it, and not let any kind of feelings affect how you deal with your children, that’s the most important thing. I’m happy that we raised our kids just to be happy and it’s all about them, what they want.”
Asked her about the custody arrangements, she said: “It’s not that formal. There’s a lot of communication and being very open about things. There’s nothing contentious about any of it, it’s all very ‘go with the flow’ and whatever happens in the moment.”
She also confessed that it took a long time to become a natural mother.
“Before I had kids, I’d never held a baby, I never babysat, I didn’t have any cousins, so when I first held my baby Ava for the first time, it was the first time I ever held a baby in my life. So I understood that fear of not being a good mum and it took me a long time to be comfortable in the role of being a mother.”
