kids1Los Angeles, Mar 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Kids Choice Awards took place on Saturday, Mar 27. The annual award ceremony is aired on Nickelodeon, and this time, it was held in the Pauley Pavilion of the UCLA, in Los Angeles. Like every other year, the different categories in which the awards were given out were whimsical, to say the least, and definitely very unconventional. As is the tradition in the Kids’ Choice Awards, this time too, the celebrities who were given away the awards were coated with green slime. The guest performers this year were Justin Bieber and Rihanna.

Taylor Lautner beat out Robert Pattinson in the race for the other half of the cutest couple, paired with Kristen Stewart. On a whole, President Barack Obama also failed to win the prize, with the kids deeming his pair with the First Lady Michelle Obama not cute enough. Dylan Sprouse, famed for the role of Zack in Disney’s “Suite Life Of Zack And Cody” beat his twin, Cole Sprouse, to the spot of the best television star. The favorite television show of the kids turned out to be “iCarly.”

Taylor Swift turned out to be a favorite among the kids too, taking away the prize for the favorite singer, along with Jay-Z. Taylor Lautner also won the award of the best film actor, along with Miley Cyrus, who was a clear favorite, easily getting ahead of Sandra Bullock. “American Idol” has the kids clearly hooked, who touted it their favorite television show, and “Spongebob Squarepants” was the best cartoon show. First Lady Michelle Obama won an award for her contributions to children in need.
