Kidman receives Brit papers apology over entirely untrue fragrance claimsDecember 8th, 2007 - 8:44 pm ICT by admin
Washington, Dec 8 (ANI): Nicole Kidman has received an apology from British paper The Daily Telegraph which ran a story stating she had put her position as the face of Chanel at risk.
The paper claimed that Kidman preferred Jo Malone’s White Jasmine and Mint scent to Chanel No.5, a product that she is endorsing, and that she had been “dabbing it on whenever she had a moment” while in the U.K. to promote her new film The Golden Compass.
Kidman took the paper to court insisting that the allegations were “entirely untrue” and “grossly defamatory”.
The Telegraph has now published a retraction, offering “sincere apologies” for embarrassment caused to the Aussie star.
The newspaper added that the allegation was entirely untrue.
“We now accept that it was entirely untrue to allege that Nicole Kidman had been openly using and promoting a competitor’s product,” Contactmusic quoted it, as stating in the retraction. (ANI)
