Los Angeles, Feb 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 39 year old comedian turned director Kevin Smith who was recently asked to leave a Southwest Airlines flight has put on a series of messages on Twitter, describing how he was ill treated by the Southwest Airlines’ authority. The director was scheduled to fly from Oakland to Burbank on Saturday when at the last moment he was asked by the pilot to leave his seat as the latter felt that the size of the director could cause problem to the adjacent passenger and might cause a ’security risk’.

Kevin Smith has said that he did buy an extra ticket not because he thought that he needs an extra seat to accommodate himself, but rather because he is too shy and did not want to sit next to someone and end up having a conversation. He criticized the airline authority for assuming him to be too fat to board a flight.

However, the authority of the Southwest Airlines have issued an apology to the director in Twitter. In Southwest Airlines blog, flight Attendant Linda Rutherford, has apologized and said that the whole matter was handled hurried and in a bad way. The airline has apologized to Kevin Smith on the phone and accommodated him in the next flight. It also claims to have paid Kevin Smith a $100 voucher. Kevin Smith has said that the apology seemed to be a sincere one but it has failed to convince him as the statement reiterates the two seat rule and implied that he needs two seats to accommodate himself.
