kevin New York City, Apr 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jay Leno’s music director Kevin Eubanks has announced that he is going to leave ‘The Tonight Show’ after being Leno’s music director for 18 years. He would bid adieu to the show on the 28th of May 2010. Jay Leno announced that Kevin Eubanks would be leaving the show, on ‘The Tonight Show’ itself. He called Kevin onto the stage and said that, “We have one more headline to get to and it involves our very own Kevin Eubanks.” Then Kevin came on the stage, and announced that, “After 18 years, I just need a change of pace and see what else is going on. But it’s a really difficult decision because this has become my second home, as it has been for the band, and I love the audience and the American people really love the show and it’s been a wonderful experience to be here”.

In February NBC had announced that Kevin is quitting the show. The main reason behind bidding adieu to the show is that, Eubanks wants to peruse other opportunities. Earlier Kevin was the bandleader on ‘The Jay Leno Show’. He joined the Tonight Show in 1992, and in 1994 he became the bandleader of the show, when he replaced Branford Marsalis.
