June 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Actor and director, Kevin Costner has become the father for the seventh time as his wife, Christine Baumgartner gave birth to a baby girl on the Wednesday evening.

The baby, named as Grace Avery Costner, is the third child of the couple. She weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz and was 21 inches at birth.

According to the couple’s representative, both the mother and the baby are doing well.

Costner married Baumgartner in 2004 at his farm in Aspen, Colorado. They already have two sons, Cayden, three, and Hayes, who is a year old.

Baby Grace is the seventh child of Costner, who has three children from Cindy Silva to whom he was married form 1978 to 1994. He got into a relationship with Bridget Rooney folowing his divorce from Silva, and had a son with her in 1996.

The big acting break of Costner came in 1987, when he played the role of Eliot Ness in The Untouchables. His career took off with successful films like Bull Durham and Field of Dreams.

Costner earned his biggest achievement in 1990, when he directed and acted in the epic Dances with Wolves. The film garnered 12 Academy Award nominations and won 7, of which Costner himself won two for the “Best Picture’ as wel as the “Best Director’.

In 2006, Costner was honored with his hand and foot prints placed in concrete in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
