Kevin Bacon is promoting his new movie ‘X-Men: First Class’
June 3rd, 2011 - 1:57 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, June 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kevin Bacon is promoting his new movie “X-Men: First Class.” During the tour, one thing that Bacon spoke about was the money that he and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick lost to jailed Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff. The scam which duped victims to the tune of nearly $50 billion was the biggest in the history of the United States and Madoff was jailed for 150 years for masterminding it.
Though Bacon has consistently failed to name the amount that they lost in the scam, he said the amount was quite significant. During an interview with Details magazine, Bacon told said that, “I am not going to say it did not have its emotional downsides. But we were both young and we both had the ability to work and roll up our sleeves and start putting the pieces back together.”
He says his wife played a significant role in getting the couple through the difficulty after losing their money. He was full of praise to his wife saying the secret to the success of their marriage is that they are the “right person” for each other.
Bacon and Sedgwick have been married since 1988. The two have two children together and the 52-year-old told the magazine that he still enjoys being with her.
