Ketut Liyer, The Healer Of Eat, Pray, Love Hospitalized In Bali

August 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Julia Roberts starrer movie Eat, Pray, Love is set to release on September 24 and just a month before this the elderly man Ketut Liyer, who was a central character in the book, has been hospitalized in Bali. As reported earlier, the movie is based on the best-selling book by American author Elizabeth Gilbert.
The 95 year old healer from Ubud has been admitted to Surya Husada Hospital in Denpasar following breathing difficulties by him. A surgery was conducted to get rid of a crystallized substance from his bladder.
He became a celebrity when author Elizabeth Gilbert penned about her friendship with this man in her book. More than seven million copies of this book have been sold all over the world.
He is visited by more than 50 people per day at his remote home. These people come to him for palm readings and health consultations.
In the movie, actor Hadi Subiyanto has played the role of Liyer.
