April 30, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Kenward Boo Bernis, one of the competitors on the reality television’s game show, ‘Survivor: Fiji’, back in 2007 has been arrested on the indictment of assault.
Bernis is the second competitor of the ‘Survivor’ to be detained by the police personnel. Last week, on a similar charge of assault, another ‘Survivor’ competitor, Russell Hantz, got incarcerated for purportedly pushing a female to the ground in the vicinity of a bar of which he is the custodian.
It is interesting to note that Bernis was arrested at the same Bootleggers Bar, which is owned by Russell Hantz, and also for assaulting a woman. In line with Sgt. Mark Francis of the Lafayette Police Department, the police officers were called to the scene of the unpleasant incident. They scrutinized and summoned up Bernis for the misdemeanor battery offense that will need him to come into sight in the courthouse.
Police personnel have stated that, for the time being, they don’t have any particulars on what triggered the assault, and refused to classify Kenward’s accuser. They expounded that Bernis may have to come to terms with either a $500 penalty or a maximum of six months in a penal complex.
Bernis has been described earlier as a meticulous man from Lafayette in Louisiana, who is a construction worker by day and a club manager by night. He went to the University of Louisiana and gained a degree in General Studies.
