best3Nov. 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The list of 100 “most interesting, influential, and newsworthy LGBT people”, which is published every year by ‘Out Magazine’, contains the name of Kelly McGillis, the star of “Top Gun”. Kelly has been a stunner all her life and has acted opposite top stars like Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Namrata Singh Gujral, Jodie Foster and others.

McGillis, the Golden Globe nominee for the film ‘Witness’, has been married twice and has two daughters. She has also suffered an assault and rape by Leroy Johnson (escaped rapist) after which she went on to do ‘The Accused’. The rumor, that she was a lesbian had been doing rounds for years, however, she came out with the truth only in early 2009 saying that “coming to terms with her sexual orientation has been an ongoing process since the age of 12″. She also said that she was being punished by God himself for her being gay. An interview held in early April, given to the SheWired.com which is an LGBT website, brought her sexual orientation to the forefront and also created headlines. The 52 year old veteran actor told the website that “she was done with the man thing”.

Along with Kelly, Chaz Bono (the son of Sonny and Cher) has been included in the list who is currently going through a sex change from a female to a male. The other top people to be included in the list are Melissa Etheridge, Charlie David (who said that he has been out professionally because of his decision to come out with his sexual preferences), Sheriff Lupe Valdez, Doug Jefferies, Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy.
