Kelly Clarkson named as most successful American Idol sent

Los Angeles, May 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kelly Clarkson, who was the winner of American Idol 1, has been named as the most successful American idol since the popular musical TV reality show began seven years ago. Billboard.com has accorded her the top position because she remains the show’s biggest and most successful star.
Kelly has tasted sweet commercial success since winning the American Idol title in 2002, as she has sold a staggering 10,600,000 albums, which is a record in itself, but however another winner has managed to overshadow her on this count. The record of the maximum number of albums is however is held by the season 4 winner Carrie Underwood who has sold 11,500,000 albums in the United States, since winning the prestigious title.
However there are numerous other factors that make Kelly the number one American idol and it is mostly due to the fact that her album has enjoyed the most radio plays. Her song has an impressive 4, 260,000 radio plays and that coupled with the fact of her sales makes her the most successful American idol, according to Billboard.com. Besides that she is only American Idol who has managed to ace the top spot on the UK music charts as well with her song “My Life Would Suck Without You”.
