Jan 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a latest development a number of social media site and blog sites have stressed upon asking former host of a leading media entity, Keith Olbermann to run for Senate. The online campaign has been gaining momentum on the Daily Kos website. They are also using popular social networking site Facebook to gather support. The Draft Olbermann for Senate Facebook page is a proof for that. The blogger who is behind this online campaign has the user name Stranded Wind. The blogger said that Keith Olbermann is “just old enough, smart enough, polished enough, and has all of the other attributes that would make him a darned good senator for the state of Connecticut.”
Keith Olbermann quit his popular show recently saying that he could not handle it any more. However, owing to his agreement with the network he was involved with, he will not appear in any TV show for some time. He had a tiff with the network has year and he got suspended by it for giving political contributions. A number of Democrat and GOP candidates are vying to succeed the existing Senate seat holder Joe Lieberman from Connecticut. Chris Murphy, the democratic congressman is among them.
Stranded Wind the blogger also argues in his post that since Keith Olbermann stays in New York it will be easier for him. Keith Olbermann is yet to react to this online campaign but it is getting more supporters with time. He has chosen to remain elusive on why exactly he decided to part ways with the network he had a long alliance with.
