is one of those reality shows on the small screen which had revolutionized the entertainment industry in India with its format, style, great sets, and a very popular anchor and of course the basic attraction of winning hoards of money by answering some tricky questions.

The basic format was taken from the American telly show who wants to be a millionaire? The idea was to attract the common man to win thousands within a matter of a few hours rather than slogging for years to achieve their dreams in life.

Well, the first season aired on Star plus, was quite a big hit with the megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the anchor. The second season too had him as the anchor, which was not as successful as the first season, but still it was rated amongst the top shows aired on the small screen. The third season was not as popular despite having B town superstar Shahrukh Khan as the host.

However it was Sony Entertainment Television that embarked on the idea to take on the responsibility of airing the fourth season with megastar Amitabh Bachchan again as the anchor and it has been a great business proposition for the channel as reports keep on pouring in about the high TRP’s that the show is getting this season.

According to reports, Sony Entertainment Television was going through a slump in its basic TRP levels with their rival channels all doing exceedingly well. But with this show on hand, KBC 4, the channel has got a lifeline to be considered in the top league of channels and is being seen as a comeback vehicle for the channel in terms of its popularity in the entertainment industry.
