November 10, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Imagine experiencing a high when you are nominated for an award and then suddenly someone rips you of the glory by stating that the recognition was not meant for you. Kayne West did just that at the 2009 MTV VMAs, when Taylor Swift was nominated for the award. Though Kayne played a pivotal role in Swift’s career, he felt sorry for interrupting Swift on stage when she was basking in glory of her achievement. In an interview to a Minnesota radio station, Kayne remarked that although he felt bad for his remarks on stage, he firmly believes that he played a key role in Taylor’s rise to fame.
In an interview Kayne also commented that he apologized to Taylor. Kayne remarked “I do understand the fact that she really felt bad and I made her realize that such things are quite common at award functions”.
Kayne felt that Beyonces “Single Ladies” did not get the recognition it deserved. Kayne even justified his claim by saying that “imagine a seasoned artist who has spent almost a decade in the industry losing out to a new artist on the block.”Although Kayne was quite repentant with his remark at Taylor’s moment of joy but we wonder whether Taylor would be able to erase that from her memory and forgive Kayne.
