London, June 8 (IANS) Pop singer Katy Perry, who will play Smurfette in the big screen adaptation of the “Smurfs”, says her parents used to censor her television viewing and she was banned from watching the popular cartoon series as a young girl.
“I’m going to be Smurfette; I’m so excited! I’ve never seen an episode because my parents wouldn’t let me,” femalefirst.co.uk. quoted Perry as saying.
“My mother thought that Smurfette was a little not for kids. And now I’ve shown her: I called her up and said, ‘Guess what, ma? I’m Smurfette’,” she added.
