Sep 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pop icon and sex symbol Katy Perry was among some of the big surprises that this week’s episode of ‘SNL’ had for the audience who were waiting eagerly for its return. The appearance of the ‘California Gurl’ on the show was much talked about before the show and most fans were sure that the ‘Sesame Street’ controversy would surely be the hot topic on the show. Though Katy Perry safely avoided much humor on the controversy, there was one small skit in the show, where she appeared in the Elmo T-shirt.

In the skit, the pop icon made some hilarious digs at the producers who pulled out her video from ‘Sesame Street’. Katy Perry was in the news last week when her video was adjudged too racy for the children. Parents complained that Katy Perry’s dress was too revealing for the children to see and the lyrics of her song ‘Hot N Cold’ were also quite suggestive. For the ‘SNL’ skit, Katy Perry wore an even more revealing top which exposed her cleavage between Elmo’s eyes on the top. The dress itself made the statement that Katy Perry might have wanted to make on the show.

Katy Perry also performed her hit singles ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Teenage Dreams’. The episode was hosted by the veteran comedian Amy Poehler and also had some seriously political jokes. To the amazement of the fans, Fred Armisen’s skit was interrupted by none other than his favorite target, David Paterson, the Governor of New York. There was also a hilarious segment on Christine O’Donnell where the actress playing the Republican Senate hopeful, spoke about masturbation and how she is no more against it.
